Clarkson BMX Park in Mississauga, Ontario sits next to the GO train line and takes advantage of an unused hydro corridor. The park has been in existence since 2001 and recently underwent an entire transformation under the guidance of Transitions Bike Parks. The linear park features beginner and intermediate / advanced rhythm sections and is arguably one of the first municipally sanctioned dirt jump parks in Southern Ontario.
Beginning with the parks initial construction in 2001 as a community advocate, Chris Dewar and Transitions Bike Parks have since taken the facility to the next level and have provided the City with a range of services including:
- Assistance with initial development in 2001
- Ongoing site Inspection and analysis of existing conditions
- Preparation of recommendations and options report
- Conceptual and detailed creative design preparation
- Budget and scheduling
- Construction services including total renovation and hand finishing of all features
- Testing and refinement
- Ongoing operational strategies
Coming full circle with the redevelopment of this park has been a fulfilling experience for Chris and the Transitions crew, and it has been a special opportunity to develop a facility in Chris’ hometown.
